Fresh Pressed Cottage Cheese (Microwave Version)

Make delicious, homemade pressed cottage cheese (or farmers cheese, or tvorog) using the microwave! It's super easy and sophreakingood!

Equipment

  • mesh strainer
  • cheesecloth

Ingredients
  

  • 2 750g containers plain yogurt

Instructions
 

  • Place yogurt in a microwave safe (glass or ceramic) bowl and cover with a plate.
  • Microwave on high for about 10 minutes (5 -6 minutes per container of yogurt), or until the yogurt has curdled and separated from the whey (yellow liquid).
  • Let cool and strain through a cheesecloth-lined sieve or strainer.
  • Place in the fridge overnight to drain, and enjoy!
